I decided to challenge myself and go (almost) fully analogue for the magazine. I created my own font from my handwriting and wrote all the texts with my new font to make it more personal. I worked a lot with collages and created shapes with colored paper cut outs. Furthermore I added spray paint on the Nightlife chapter. The nightlife chapter was the one where I enjoyed the process of making the most. I really liked that I could bring another layer/texture in that fits the subject of nightlife and combine it with a personal interest of mine.
Generally speaking it was a challenging project since I struggled to bring all my different ideas of design together and stick to one aesthetic throughout the whole magazine. At the beginning I did a few digital proposals but after a bit I started disliking them as they seemed boring and flat to me. After feeling stuck with the digital approach I had the idea of working analogue (also inspired trough the Lab class). The analogue approach was on the one hand helping to get my inspiration back and on the other hand it was really time consuming to draw everything by hand and to do all the cut outs and collages. Here is the final result:
