I chose to visualise the ‘Hot Spots’ of the Minerva Graduation Show.
The Grad Show is the place to be right now so I wanted to visualise the actual places to be! I have gone with a heat map style, floor plan of the main building and have presented it as a advertising poster for the show.
Data visualisation isn’t my favourite thing in graphics, to be honest, so I wanted to approach it from more of a graphic visualisation rather than prioritising information, so it is a more subjective design, if that makes sense.
I took inspiration from the style that some of the flyers and pamphlets currently use to keep a consistent design and seem like they could just fit in with the pre existing posters.
I made 3 different poster designs, based on the three days I was in the main Minerva building while the Grad Show was on, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I observed each space and recorded how many people were in each area of the building and that determined the design on the map.
Originally, I started with a clear floor plan of Minerva, but I didnt like how this looked so thats why I went more subjective with the design choices.
