I. M Le Magazine Du Monde International, issue 01, 2019
The reason I chose this magazine is due to the highly interesting grid layouts. I feel the grids allow for creating a visually interesting spread whilst also keeping the pages legible and organised. Also, even though the grids are different from each other, I feel that the designs of the spreads are cohesive and recognisable.
II. MAAP, Off The Front, Issue 2
MAAP was the next magazine I looked at. The thing about these spreads that caught my attention was how abstract the layout of the grids was creating a unique reading experience. As well as this, the use of black and white and pops of coloured images allows for satisfying visuals.
III. Wired magazine, Multiple issues, 90’s
Wired magazine was the final magazine I looked at, and it was completely different from the previous magazines. The spreads feel highly digitised due to the rise of software in the 90s, giving them are nostalgic feel. As well as the spreads, I feel that the colour palette is also interesting, as although some of these spreads are from different magazines, the all have a warm tone to them.
